”OSCAR 100 AWARD”

is an international award organized by the Fidenza’s branch of A.R.I. (Associazione Radioamatori Italiani, Italian Radioamateur League, www.arifidenza.it) with the aim of promoting, spreading and fostering the experimental activities and the radio contacts by means of the geosynchronous satellite OSCAR 100.

RULES



SCOPE
Aim of the award is to contact as many stations and DXCC Countries as possible by means of the geosynchronous satellite OSCAR 100, during a time period of 6 months.

AWARD’s DATES AND DURATION
The award lasts six months, starting at 00:01 UTC of June 1st, 2022 and ending at 23:59 of December 31st, 2022.

PARTICIPANTS
The award is open to all radioamateurs operating from geographical locations under coverage of the geosynchronous satellite OSCAR 100.

BANDS AND EMISSION MODES
Contacts valid for the award can be performed by means of all emission modes admitted for the radioamateur traffic with OSCAR 100, according to the relevant Band Plan.
As digital modes are included both narrow band modes, as well as DATV on broad band transponder.

RS(T) REPORT
During QSO, only the RS(T) report exchange is required as mandatory.

QSO SCORE
- Each valid QSO between stations different from IQ4FE accounts for 1 point;
- Each valid QSO with IQ4FE station accounts for 10 points;

Limitations
During the award’s period of six months, the same station can be contacted only once for each emission mode: CW, SSB and each of the different DIGITAL modes. Different digital modes (e.g.: RTTY, FT8, FT4, SSTV, etc.) will be considered and accounted separately.

MULTIPLIERS
Each DXCC Country counts as a multiplier.

TOTAL SCORE
The total score is obtained by multiplying the sum of the overall QSO scores and the number of all multipliers.

LOG AND QSO VALIDATION
The log must be sent in ADIF format; paper logs and electronic logs in format different from adif are not accepted.
Each participant is requested to send his/her log to the e-mail address

within Jan 31st, 2023.
The official award’s final ranking will be published on the website www.arifidenza.it within February, 2023.

AWARD CERTIFICATES
For all participant stations having scored at least 500 points, the award certificates will be available for download as PDF files on the official website www.arifidenza.it.
The award certificates assigned to the first three ranked participants will be characterized in a special way, and named “Gold”, “Silver” and “Bronze” respectively.
