Un nuovo FW che non ho ancora testato ha introdotto l'emissione FreeDV

un breve sunto da un post sul gruppo MCHF di Yahoo

Hi,

the mchF Software Team would like to announce the availability of FreeDV 1600 support
in the current daily builds.

For those who don't know FreeDV: It is a open source digital voice codec
and digital transmission modem. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codec2 and http://freedv.org

With help of David Rowe, the main Codec2 developer (Thank you!) we were able to integrate the FreeDV
code into the mcHF.

This makes the mcHF the first (non-PC based) SDR which runs FreeDV internally.

This first release is a milestone but of course not the end of the journey.
It needs to be tested and there will be bugs, for sure.

How to get started:

- Download the most recent daily build from https://df8oe.github.io/mchf-github
- Switch to LSB or USB, dial into an appropriate frequency.
- Touch the "Digital" box in the lower left side. It will switch to "FreeDV" with orange background.
- Press PTT and you are on air with FreeDV!

[You will need a touch screen enabled mcHF for now or you have to change the
source and compile to automatically enable FreeDV when turned on (mchf_freedv.c, init function)]

Any report appreciated!

In case of issues, have a look at https://github.com/df8oe/mchf-github/issues and
possibly add one, if not already mentioned there.

OTTIMO!!!!

Era ora che una questione come questa desse una cantonata al mondo "radio commerciale", con un'apparato RADIOAMATORIALE fatto da radioamatori per radioamatori, con una modulazione digitale in sintonia con il nostro modo di fare radio!

Intanto attendo che vengano risolti i "bug" grossolani e poi mi dò alla macchia....

Anche se è una questione "utopistica", speriamo che decolli.
C'è un casino nel mondo FM su questa faccenda da far spendere soldi a colleghi per ingrassare le casse di alcuni costruttori, da far paura...

Gente che compra e vende apparati, in balia delle mode locali...

La questione potrebbe esser molto simile a Microsoft Office e Libre Office, dove l'uno ha limitazioni ma l'altro (gratuito) è migliore del primo.... Tanto per fare un'esempio....

Ciao a tutti da Stefano,

il software l'ho testato lo scorso anno in hf sui 20 metri, ha funzionato bene, fatto due collegamenti con gli americani, mia potenza rigorosamente qrp.

Fatto un test in 40 metri con un om locale e anche questa prova e' andata bene.

A causa di mancanza di altri sperimentatori qui in Italia da provare almeno sui 40 metri non ho piu' fatto nulla.

Il programma l'ho ancora installato sul pc, controllo se la versione che e' sul sito web e' piu' recente se e' recente la installo.
